Catharsis Episode 1: Mona

January 7, 1981 - Twenty year old Barbel Poore was working alone at the Cheker Oil Company gas station on Cane Run Road in Louisville, Kentucky late at night. She was working to support herself and her 10 month old daughter. She was repeatedly raped and sodomized before being shot twice in the head and killed. Mona is Barbel’s sister, and she has advocated for Barbel her entire adult life in a justice system that has caused her 38 years of pain.
